Hampshire Restaurants For Sunday Lunch – About The Anglesey Hotel:

The Anglesey Hotel Alverstoke is situated in Alverstoke Village on the Gosport peninsular. It is an elegant Georgian Building dating back to the 1830’s and stands as Gosport’s largest hotel. The hotel has unparallelled views of the Solent and the Isle of Wight as well as Portsmouth, Gun Wharf Quays and the Spinnaker Tower.

The Anglesey Hotel Alverstoke is ideally situated for those visiting the area for business or pleasure and now with 26 en-suite bedrooms the hotel is large enough to cope with most large business or family groups. Our rates include bed and breakfast and complimentary WIFI. Many of our guests enjoy walking on the sea shore at Stokes Bay (5 mins walk) taking in the fresh sea air and watching the very busy waterway, that is the home training ground for many internationally famous yachts people, also taking refreshment at the fine beachside cafés. Other Guests not so energetic will often take their morning tea in the award winning Crescent Gardens that is 20 metres from the hotel front door.

The traditionally decorated restaurant overlooking the beautifully maintained Crescent gardens, seats up to 60 diners. It can be readily adapted for functions such as wedding receptions, christenings and funerals. Our Bar is open to the public selling real ales and a good selection of wine by the glass. Sit by our log fire whilst enjoying one of our tempting dishes from our menu. During sunny days and warm evenings you can soak up the sun with a chilled drink in our front garden. Specialty coffee and homemade cake available 9am -10pm.
“We have one menu that runs throughout the hotel, restaurant and bar which is changed regularly and always offers a good variety of fish, meat and vegetarian options. All meals are freshly prepared using local produce wherever possible. Soups, sauces and desserts are a speciality and made in our own kitchens to the chefs own recipes. Our menu also includes daily specials found on the chalk board in the Bar area.
