The Love Your Pub Group has over 250,000 users & close to 11,000 social media followers which is a mixture of trade professionals & the public
At different times of our lives we all find ourselves in need of support , this could be anything from mental health to substance abuse. Hospitality Action is completely the right tool for people to use in our high pressured industry & I am honestly extremely proud that we have aligned with the team
I myself have worked in the industry for over 10 years and had difficulties with my own mental health & didn’t get the support from my work place which would have helped greatly
Therefore The Love Your Pub Group is proud to announce Hospitality Action as our chosen industry specific charitable partner for 2018 & 2019

About Hospitality Action – Helping Our People
Hospitality Action is the trade charity offering a crucial lifeline to people of all ages, both working and retired, from the hospitality industry. Whether the approach comes from a chef, house keeper, waiter or bar person, Hospitality Action will endeavour to provide support, whatever the difficulty. We all know that an extended illness can lead to a drop in pay, while other circumstances such as a relationship breakdown, bereavement or redundancy can also put an enormous strain on the household income.
The charity strives to keep its support relevant to the industry, so in addition to its long-running grants programme, it also offers help via its Employee Assistance Programme, alcohol and drugs seminars and a very popular befriending scheme for industry retirees.
Hospitality Action receives no government funding, so it is dependent on individuals and corporate bodies from within the hospitality industry.
Bar Supervisor Amy Buller is just one of the people they have been able to support in recent times. When Amy was diagnosed with breast cancer she fought hard to ensure her illness didn’t stop her as she underwent chemotherapy followed by surgery and radiotherapy to tackle the cancer. Thankfully Amy’s prognosis is good but she still faces time off work and regular hospital check-ups. Amy has been unable to work over the course of her illness and has been making ends meet on sick pay and with the help of her friends and family. A friend very kindly paid her last month’s rent whilst her mum has been helping to buy food.
Upon hearing of Amy’s ill health, Hospitality Action stepped in. We were able to issue a grant towards Amy’s general living costs to help with food, rent and bills at this sensitive time.
