The Old Kings Arms – Pub Layout
The main trading area is on the ground floor and is a split level large open plan room with good sized central bar servery. The current room and furniture layout offers the opportunity for both comfortable front lounge areas and also vertical drinking nearer the bar with a cosy lounge on the elevated rear section. On the first floor is a small function/meeting room and a food preparation/kitchen area. The ladies and gents are also located on the 1st floor.
Re-opened in September 2019, The Old Kings Arms is modelled as a Tavern style outlet with feature walls, feature wooden flooring and warm, inviting lounge areas. So as a market/tourist town site, The Old Kings Arms currently thrives on the strong available day time trade predominantly driven by local “core” drinkers, televised sports and supported by a simple hot & cold snack food menu and a coffee/tea offering to cater for shoppers & passing trade. There is also a regular evening and weekend trade driven by a good quality wet offer including cask ales and premium spirits whilst supported by a popular program of varied entertainment. There is the opportunity to further develop a larger food menu should an operator have catering experience.
