Driffield, YO25 9XJ
The Black Swan is located on the main road through the affluent and picturesque village of Wetwang, Driffield. Wetwang is a part of the Yorkshire Wolds which are low hills in the counties of the East Riding of Yorkshire and North Yorkshire in north-eastern England creating an abundance of passing trade through the village with tourists and day trippers. Along with visitors to the village itself, Wetwang benefits from being situated on the main A road from York to Bridlington, increasing passing trade to the pub.

On entering the Black Swan you are welcomed in to the main bar area, with original features and a charming ambience throughout. There is snug seating for those just in for a quiet drink to the front left and right of the bar, with a mixture of fixed and loose seating. To the right hand side there is a games room, complete with full sized pool table and space for vertical drinking. To the left is a dining area, however with such eclectic furniture, this could be transformed for entertainment or additional seating on the busy Friday and Saturday nights. To the rear of the pub you will find an exceptionally sized beer garden with a number of picnic benches, creating space for alfresco dining or those just wanting to enjoy a drink in the sun. There is a car park which can be accessed from the beer garden, which can easily accommodate up to twenty vehicles.
TRADING STYLE The Black Swan has got everything you could want from a traditional village pub, from the charming features and friendly atmosphere to a good drinks range and food offer. There is however room to introduce a more consistent food offer throughout the week and on Sunday lunch times. There is currently a strong community spirit within the pub and the current tenants welcome pool teams and put on quizzes, but there is an opportunity to introduce live music and entertainment as well.

I am looking for an inspiring and enthusiastic individual or couple who are looking for a great village local and who would be willing to embed themselves into the community, to take this already popular pub to the next level. The successful applicant must be passionate about cask ale and a decent and consistent food offer, so experience in both these would be ideal. This pub is already extremely popular to locals and visitors alike, meaning I would be looking for someone to carry on the reputation and expand it to new and unlocked heights to keep the regulars happy and also broaden the customer base. At present the pub has no social media/ internet presence so the in-going tenant must have experience and understand the importance of advertising and marketing.
