Could you run this Pub?
The Castle Inn has a sterling reputation for quality food and excellent service. The retail offer must balance a traditional pub fayre menu with an authentic week-round pub experience. The pub also boasts eighteen caravan pitches to the rear of the property, which attract a significant amount of additional trade, especially during the summer months.
Pub and location
Comprehensively refurbished initially by Punch with a continued scheme of enhancing works conducted by our current publicans, the Castle Inn is a plush open-plan trading operation. The cosy public bar is home to an open fire, a large-screen TV, and darts.
The main dining area includes an attractive conservatory, with fifty covers available in the trading space. The large catering kitchen is well-equipped and is ideally accessed just off the restaurant’s trading floor.
Outside, you’ll discover an extensive alfresco dining space at the side of the pub with a smoking solution and parking spaces for twenty-five vehicles. The shower and toilet block with wash-up facilities are on the right-hand side of the car park, with access to the caravan site to the rear.
Cawood is an affluent village located a few miles from Selby with a population of around 1,100 adults. This figure jumps to a staggering 34,000 within a fifteen-minute drive. Formerly the residence of the Archbishop of York Minster, just over ten miles away, Cawood is steeped in history. York and its many tourist attractions are easily accessible via the A19. You’ll capitalise on the annual Cawood craft fair and Cawood Stock, two main attractions bringing caravanners who pitch on the caravan site at the Castle Inn.
