The Old Plough is a detached double fronted traditional pub, situated in the village of Birstall. Birstall lies on the A6 and is the last major settlement before Leicester when arriving from the North, providing excellent transport links between the village and Leicester via local transport and car. Surrounded by beautiful parkland (Watermead Country Park), local schools and a variety of essential shops, this area oozes the idyllic village life to which The Old Plough is central in providing a local hub, a strong retail offer and is supported very well.
Upon entering the pub you are greeted by the prominent bar servery which is well stocked with both cask, keg and a great spirit range, the bar is traditional in style which is in keeping with the building. Whilst the pub is open plan there is two natural trading areas which each have there own identity. To left is a softer drinking space which is where the locals enjoy a drink the furniture is relaxed with church pews and a variety of seating , to the right is where is the pubs comes alive and the space is used for live entertainment and sports matches are watched. To the rear is a great outside space which is part covered patio whilst the other half allows the locals to enjoy the British sunshine. There is also a carpark which could house around 15 cars.
