The Purple Emperor is situated in the growing town of Harlow, West Essex, just off the M11 close to Stansted Airport and excellent links into the capital of London. It is in the heart of its community and is surrounded by a large number of houses and forms a small community area in a precinct that includes a hairdressers, convenience store and a take away. Harlow is a designated ‘new town’ and there is strong employment throughout with a number of residents commuting to Liverpool Street Station and taking advantage of the short journey into the city of London.

Pub Layout

The pub has two large bar servery areas that are connected, one of which can be used for functions and events housing a stage for bands or live entertainment. The games room houses a pool table and darts okke for the community pub teams and the larger of the bars is a more relaxed drinking area, with a mixture of loose and fixed seating. There is a large patio garden to the rear that is enclosed with a smoking shelter. The car park is shared with the precinct however there are parking spaces close by but the majority of the customer base usually walk to the pub.

TRADING STYLE

The Purple Emperor operates as a community meeting point with an array of entertainment at weekends. The pub has always been known for being family friendly with more of a focus on entertainment in the evenings. Sports are also an opportunity with Sky or BT likely to attract more custom as well as developing more pool teams that will use the pub as a base for home games.

ACCOMMODATION

Private Accommodation The private accommodation is situated on the first floor and consists of three bedrooms, lounge, kitchen, bathroom and a separate large office (which could be used as a fourth bedroom). This can be accessed through the bar entrance. There is also a room which was formerly a commercial kitchen which can be used.
