Tuck in to a homemade, maple glazed, bacon wrapped meat loaf served with corn bread, creamy mash and green beans, finished of with a lovely rich gravy. With the likes of multi award winning Bread Addiction from Southsea supplying bread, local staple Bransbury Park Butchers supplying the meat and farms like Lyburn supplying the cheese– you know you’re really on to a winner with this independent restaurant.
Ali & Paul have developed a strong culture of steering clear of mass produced products by keeping firm to their roots with wholesome believable fayre. The Wave Maiden Southsea is known for its authentic American traditional comfort food. Recipes inspired from Ali’s family dating back generations from across the Atlantic are both a warming touch but also one of inspiration.

The bar is home to many variants of Craft Beer both local and international and ever-changing based on season. Casks are available from a gravity stillage throughout the week and Portal Dingwall & Norris supply the bar with regional wine & bubbly and unique small batch spirits.
The Wave Maiden Southsea also has a fantastic selection of cheese boards, homemade small plates and fondue featuring Hampshire and Sussex farm cheese which pairs perfectly with craft beer giving depth and flavour to the discerning palate.
