The Merry Monarch is a large 1960’s detached pub situated on the outskirts of the diverse university city of Leicester in the suburb Westcotes . The pub has a varied local demographic who regularly visit the pub.  The pub is on the main transport links to the city centre making it a good stop off for customers heading into town of an evening with a small shopping arcade nearby. Pub Layout

Layout on entry you are greeted by the large wooden bar servery which services the what is currently classed as the main bar area. This is home to a pool table, dart board and numerous tv screens. The fixtures and fittings include a large fixed seating area with loose tables this could easily hold thirty people plus vertical drinkers. The separate function room is accessed through an separate entrance although the bar services both areas. This area holds a wooden dance floor has fixed seating and loose tables and chairs. It also benefits from a projector screen. Externally there is a large, grassed drinking area and covered smoking shelter. This is enclosed and could lend itself to events. There is a public pay and display car park adjacent to the pub.

TRADING STYLE

Trading Style The pub currently operates as a busy community pub showing live sports and hosts a pool and darts team. Our vision is to maintain existing trade but to build and offer more to the community utilizing the full area of the pub as well as introducing a simple food offer which would provide and additional income stream. There is an opportunity to develop the function room for private parties or large sporting events.
