Ideal Operator
The ideal operator will have experience running a classic British pub. You’ll demonstrate clear continuous improvement, never settling and always looking to take your pub to the next level. The Bowling Green Tavern is not an easy gig; it requires resilience and energy. You’ll get out of your business what you put in.
Guests love quick and hot food options. Memorable times are what they seek. Knowledge of the area is preferable but not essential. You’ll want to dive right in and get to know everyone straight away.
Most of all, your Saturday nights must be epic! You’ll create that warm, atmospheric, and safe environment for guests to party and let their hair down.. However, it won’t just be about partying. Your entertainment will be popular with disparate guests. You’ll have your quizzes and local community events already planned, ready to start on the front foot. It’ll be about maximising the pub seven days a week to deliver what the local community wants.
Family lies in the heart of this community. Whilst it is not the sole focus, a defined plan is necessary to get the cross-section of a family in love with this pub.
The Bowling Green Tavern has four trading zones: a front and back bar with two dining areas at the back of the property, leading out to a good-sized garden. You’ll maximise the potential of the rear and side of the pub that can accommodate up to 100 covers.

About the Agreement
Our Tenancy agreements vary between 3 – 5 years offer a flexible approach to running your own pub business. Your pub will be ready to trade, with carefully tailored food and drinks menus in place which you can evolve as you go along.
You will receive a high level of support and everything you need to run a successful business. From the beginning, you will have dedicated Operations Manager, plus access to training and development, business planning, operations and accounting expertise.
Once you’ve completed the 5-day induction course we’ll provide you with ongoing support to help you maximise the efficiency, sales and profitability of your pub. This includes helping you decide on the right drinks offer, guidance on margin and support creating a marketing plan to build for continued success. To help market your pub, we also offer lots of support and advice.
Punch Tenancy agreements have shared repairs liability, we will help you manage your ongoing repairing obligations. We do this by operating a repairs and maintenance fund for all new agreements.
* The calculation of the initial Ingoing Costs assumes a minimum deposit (£3,000 or £6,000) plus legal fees. The subsequent deposit build up (if any) will need to be paid over 52 weeks. This can be discussed with the recruitment team or Operations Manager
