Let A Pub In Cambridge – The Tram Depot Is Available !
A chance to run an iconic venue in the heart of Cambridge!
The Tram Depot is a pub steeped in history – originally the stables for Cambridge Street Tramways who operated a horse-drawn tramway service from 1880 to 1914. There’s an original section of track by the front door leading to a former tram shed, and you’ll find a life-size model tram coming out from the front of the pub, which gives the pub that memorable wow factor! The Tram Depot is an iconic building within the stunning city of Cambridge.
The pub sits next to the Anglia Ruskin University and welcomes its students as well as tourists and locals, attracting people from all walks of life. The Tram Depot has a vibrant, warm friendly atmosphere, full of character and charm with subtle nods to its history thanks to the interior décor.
With an open plan design and one long bar it really brings people together to socialise in a warm cosy environment and the working piano in the corner compliments the surrounding features. Booths are available for larger groups and there is also an area that is perfect for private functions.
The Tram Depot boasts a wide selection of draft beer with 12 taps available to offer a wide range of kegged beers as well as 6 cask ale taps and 3 cider taps. It also has a wide selection of spirits available. Currently it offers simple traditional pub food with a good size kitchen on-site and hosts regular live music and comedy gigs.
The pub is in terrific condition and has the potential for business to grow further, have fun and really put it on the map in this thriving historic city. This business would suit someone who has the drive and energy to engage with the local students and working professionals nearby as well as a passion to grow and develop a good food and drink offer to keep the locals coming back for more.

The community
The business is well supported by its local community. Located just off the A603, a busy main road running through Cambridge, The Tram Depot is easily accessible by cycle, bus or foot from the busy high street (unfortunately no tram available). The area is visited a lot by students with the Anglia University only 100 yards away as well as working professionals in the offices close by. The busy Grafton shopping centre is 250 yards away as well as a large public park 0.5 miles on the main road.
