The Hafodyrynys Hotel has been an inn since the early 1870’s and it’s a large detached pub situated in the ex-mining village of Crumlin. It is on the main road between Pontypool and Crumlin. There is a small cluster of housing and the village amenities are near by.
Pub Layout
The Hafodyrynys has three distinct trading areas. On the right is a small snug bar area with wrap around fix seating, darts board and pool table. Adjacent to this is the main bar / dining area with around 60 covers with an eclectic use of loose seating throughout and the large commercial kitchen services both of these areas. Upstairs there is a function room which is a welcomed space for events and family get to togethers – this could easily hold up to 50 people. The ladies toilets are situated upstairs and the gents downstairs. Externally there is a fabulous grassed garden with 8 benches and this area becomes a great addition in the summer months. The car park can accommodate ten cars.

The pub has built a great reputation over the years for its food with a mid-range pub menu on offer, this is served 6 days a week and is supported by locals and visitors passing by. The local businesses support the pub and its often the venue of choice for functions and specials events. There is both a local darts and pool teams which bring an added income to the midweek trade.

Additional Info
Annual Rent – This is our lowest rent figure associated with a Full Tie. If the tie is reduced the effective rent (via Tie Release Fees) will increase. Rent is billed and paid for weekly in advance depending on the payment terms agreed)
Security Deposit – This sum of money will be held on your account and will be returned to you on exiting of the pub based on your final account balance and the condition of the property
Working Capital – This is a recommended amount required which will be used in the day-to-day running of the business
Stock – This will be valued by an independent valuer on the day you take over the pub. This includes unbranded glassware, unopened bottles, wines, spirits, any unopened / opened kegs and cask ale providing the container is unopened
Fixtures & Fittings – This includes any item that is bolted to the floor or walls, and a fitting to be any item that is free standing or hung by a nail or hook. This will also include furniture
Training – Before signing a long term agreement, you will be required to attend our 7 Steps to Sales Success training programme. Held online over three days, you will learn marketing and business strategies that will help you to grow sales in your pub – step-by-step.
Service Charge Cost – £57.60 per week – The Admiral Taverns Premium Maintenance Package will help take care of your compliance and statutory obligations with one simple fee, whilst giving you piece of mind about your boiler and cellar cooling repair and replacement. This also includes full access to e-learning for you and your staff.

The ideal applicant would need to be passionate about food as the Hafodyrynys is renowned in the area for its quality food. Coupled with this, a solid marketing plan would be needed to attract new customers to the venue throughout the weekdays and also planned events utilising both the garden and the function room. A desire to get involved in the local community would be advantageous to build relationships with the large community in close proximity to the pub.
