If you are interested in running your own pub business, the Griffin Inn in Banbury is available now.
The Griffin is located in the picturesque village of Chipping Warden, a short distance from the market town of Banbury. The site attracts residents from the surrounding villages and local workers from nearby factories and businesses. Tourists also utilise the pub for food and drink while passing through to and from the M40 when visiting the many campsites in the surrounding area.
This pub is a grade 2 listed building at the heart of the community. A one room operation with a function room for those special occasions. The large beer garden to the rear with a stand alone outside bar is a real reason to visit this beautiful pub.
This site is the only pub in Chipping Warden and the ever growing surrounding villages provide multiple opportunities to capitalize on by attracting new guests into the pub! Sunday roast is a big opportunity too with little competition close by.
We are looking for an operator with a strong food background to help drive dry sales.
The site currently takes on average £6000 per week on an 80/20 wet led split but has the potential to achieve higher per week by targeting extra food and drinks sales.

What’s expected from you:
Our pubs are the heart of the community, bringing communities together by serving great drinks and fantastic events. It’s a proven business-model, perfect for either someone looking to take on a pub for their first time or more experienced operators to drive sales, standards and guest experience.
In addition to the £5k security deposit required for this agreement, you will need to cover legal costs (£360), and your own insurance (except building insurance, which we’ll cover). Also, you’ll want to start thinking about your team; taking care of paying them and all other employment matters.
Before we all sign the agreement and see you heading into a whole new life, you’ll just need to show us proof that you’ve had independent financial advice from an accountant and solicitor and have completed a sustainable business plan, in accordance with the Pubs Code. And, of course, obtain your personal licence (which we can help with) and complete your induction training.
It’s a five-year commitment, so you have loads of time to build the business and get it performing brilliantly!
