Managed Partnership Pubs In Cardiff – The Blackweir Tavern Is Available !
If you are interested in running your own pub business, the Blackweir Tavern in Cardiff is available now.
The Blackweir Tavern is located on the busy North Road in Cardiff as you head out of the city centre and is in the heart of one of the main student areas in the city. It is also situated just off the Taff trail running alongside Bute Park.
The pubs customer base is predominantly students because of the amount of student accommodation locally so footfall is higher during term times. However there are also local regulars along with sports teams who comprise the customer base outside of term time.
There is a lot of room for sales growth. There are opportunities to introduce your own food offer to capitalise on the student trade. Building links with Uni Sport teams, societies and introducing further weekly activities like Quiz Night etc will help boost the existing student trade. The Live sports also can be promoted more and bring in extra guests throughout the week with both Sky & TNT available in the pub.
The beer garden at the front of the venue provides real sales potential in the summer months when students aren’t around and this is helped by the new pathway that has been built from the Taff trail up to the pub to make it easier to attract walkers/cyclists etc.

We are looking for someone with strong marketing experience and preferably someone who has operated in the student market previously. They will need to be good at networking and getting to know academic society presidents etc. to help attract groups into the pub. Operators with experience of delivering some food will also be beneficial to take advantage of the own food element.
The site currently takes on average £7500 on a 95/5 wet-led split but has the potential to achieve higher per week by targeting extra food and drinks sales.
