The Red Lion needs an experienced food operator at the helm. You’ll be the quintessential host but also confident in delegating to a well-trained and engaging team. The ideal operator will excel in all aspects of the business, ensuring consistency in standards from the kitchen to the cellar.

We’re looking for an experienced operator to manage trade peaks in the summer and execute an internal food offer alongside an external food and drink offering. You’ll be an integral part of the local community, knowledgeable in both food and drink and will be proud to deliver excellent training to your staff. Hungry to drive sales and deliver consistent excellence in a highly competitive environment.

You’ll be an expert plate spinner and understand the importance of making guests feel welcome, creating an inclusive atmosphere and supporting your team to perform at the highest possible level. You’ll be proud to represent your pub within the community and always have one ear to the ground understanding what matters to your locals.

The ideal Management Partner will know what makes a good event, ensuring guests have a great time with high-quality service. You’ll know your regulars, what they drink, where they like to sit and take a genuine interest in their story. You’ll create a great place to work for staff in a community-focused pub with regular events and fundraising activities.

The pub and location

At the Red Lion pub in Islip, Oxfordshire, you’ll discover something for everyone with a picturesque garden and a Sports bar enabling guests to get in on the action.

There’s a large private car park with wheelchair access to the gardens and sports bar, toilets with reasonable adjustments, nappy changing facilities and wheelchair accessible seating.

The private accommodation comprises three bedrooms, an en-suite, a living room, office, kitchen, and bathroom.

The ideal operator will make the Red Lion the go-to destination for families, couples, and young people alike. Guests will migrate here for delicious, home-cooked food in a beautiful rural setting. You’ll support the local football, pool, darts, skittles, Aunt Sally, and quiz teams. You’ll also maximise the garden space, ensuring it is fully utilised with al fresco dining in the summer and take-aways during the colder months.
