The Plough is located in the town of Great Harwood. It sits in a fantastic location and the pub benefits from ample passing trade, due to it’s prominence to a major supermarket. The demographics show an opportunity of circa 8,335 adults within 20 minutes walking distance.

Refurbishment Planned!

A fabulous refurbishment will transform the Plough in Great Harwood into a great traditional community pub. Inside, the pub will be redecorated throughout each trading area with contemporary finishes. We will be installing new lighting, adding new furniture and bric-a-brac and upgrading the customer toilets. Outside, we will be upgrading the pub with new external decorations and a new signage scheme. The existing garden will be cleaned as well as refurbishing the existing picnic benches and children’s play equipment. There is also an opportunity for outdoor screens for major sporting events. These improvements will give the pub appeal all year round.

When refurbished, The Plough will appeal to daytime drinkers looking for a great pub to enjoy a drink after work, sports fans looking to watch live sport and locals looking for mid-week or weekend entertainment. The offer will be drinks-led with a range of classic draught beers (and one or two premium beers), spirits, wines and soft drinks. There is currently no plan to introduce a food offer, however, there is a small kitchen so a small food offer could be introduced. Live sport, quizzes and some entertainment throughout the month will keep guests coming back for more.

The pub already has a strong reputation. The quality of the refurbishment, 72 internal covers and amazing beer garden are different from anything in the immediate vicinity. The range of premium and classic draught lagers, spirits and entertainment will also make a great point of difference in the area. All we’re waiting for is the right operator…

Where a significant investment is made in a pub by Star Pubs & Bars, an “Investment Exemption” will be required. This means that the option of a Market Rent Option lease won’t be available at rent review for a period of up to seven years for this site. This applies to all pubs in England & Wales as per The Pub Code (2016).
