DESCRIPTION
The Battle of Trafalgar is situated at the start of the high street and on the main road into Portslade. A wet led community pub on a corner plot of a busy road, the Battle of Trafalgar is dated as a building on ordnance survey maps back as far as 1873 and is a much loved community gem. Portslade is a western suburb in the city of Brighton and Hove dating back to the 16th century. With the northern end of the village situated on the edge of the South Downs and the southern part of the village by the sea, Portslade has plenty of passing footfall all year round and benefits from strong road and bus links as well as a railway station.

The Battle of Trafalgar is a large corner plot pub that is divided into two rooms to either side of the bar. There is a pool table and darts board in the main area and a large drinking area with table football on the other side. To the rear of the pub is a generous sized beer garden with some sheltered areas that can be used all year round. Behind the bar is a useful kitchen area for the preparation of a good back bar food offer.
TRADING STYLE
The Battle of Trafalgar currently trades as a wet only pub however this doesn’t stop it from being a popular and well loved community asset that is widely used and known for it’s live music entertainment as well as team sports including darts and pool. The bar itself benefits from a great selection of drinks including a good range of premium lagers and beers. Whilst currently a wet only site, there is a small kitchen prep area behind the bar that would see the launch of a small back bar food offer.

With operators who can integrate into the local community, with a keen eye for marketing the pub to maximize its full potential and the forward thinking and innovation to introduce a small food offer, The Battle of Trafalgar will be a very busy pub indeed. The new tenants will need to continue the strong community relationship already existing in the pub taking on existing customers including the darts and pool teams as well as continuing to offer live music and other regular events whilst still putting their own stamp on the pub and driving it forwards in their own way.
