The Eagle Gosport is located just off Stokes Road in Gosport where there is a niche shopping area outside of the high street with small shops and services. Gosport is situated on a peninsula on the western side of Portsmouth Harbour, opposite the city of Portsmouth, to which it is linked by the Gosport Ferry. The pub is nestled in a densely populated residential location and is located less than a five minute walk from Stokes Road.

Pub Layout
The Eagle Gosport is a relatively small pub with a central bar servery that is very ornate with lots of traditional features. The trading space surrounds the bar servery and houses a pool table and a fruit machine with the rest of the space taken up by loose furniture. The pub benefits from a rear patio garden that is a sun trap in the summer months and also has a sheltered section to accommodate smokers in wetter weather.
Trading Style
The Eagle Gosport currently only trades from late afternoon to close Monday to Friday and then lunch time until close on weekends. If the new licensee was looking to introduce food and increase the drinks portfolio there may be scope to enhance on these opening hours. The Premise License does permit for the pub to open from 9am and sell alcohol from 11am 7 days a week. Currently the sales at the pub are 100% drinks focused and has several events weekly including a ladies darts team on a Tuesday and a mixed pool team on a Thursday. The pub also offers either live music or a quiz on Saturdays with a meat raffle on a Sunday. The private accommodation is in good condition and boasts four double bedrooms, bathroom and living room. The dining room and trade kitchen are on the ground floor giving access directly into the trade garden. The pub also has separate entry into the private accommodation avoiding all trade areas.
