Description
Proper Pubs are seeking a new operator for The Barley Mow, a well-established high street pub enjoying a prime location in the heart of Leicester City Centre. Surrounded by a vibrant mix of shops, local businesses, and key attractions including the Corn Exchange, Curve Theatre, Leicester Market, and the Haymarket Shopping Centre, the pub benefits from excellent footfall and passing trade throughout the week, and an increased footfall during sporting events. Leicester is a thriving East Midlands city, known for its rich cultural diversity, sporting heritage, and welcoming atmosphere. With strong transport links via the M1 and M6 motorways and an extensive rail network, the city attracts both local regulars and visitors, making The Barley Mow an exciting opportunity for the right operator to make a lasting impact.
Pub Layout
Upon entering The Barley Mow you are greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The pub underwent investment in 2022 and is in good condition throughout. The interior is thoughtfully zoned, creating distinct areas where locals can relax, enjoy live sports, or take in the entertainment on offer. There is a mix of fixed and loose seating, complemented by a combination of wooden and tiled flooring, giving the space both character and comfort. To the rear of the pub you will find outdoor wooden huts that provide a cosy, sheltered space for external drinking even during the winter months. At the front, a small selection of tables and chairs offers the perfect spot to watch the world go by. Throughout the pub, numerous well positioned TV screens ensure that everyone can enjoy the big games and sporting events. The pool table is a popular feature with regulars, and a new operator could look to introduce a pool team to further enhance the community spirit and midweek trade.
The private accommodation consists of three bedrooms, lounge, kitchen, bathroom and office.
