The Lock & Quay is a traditional public house with a good food offer. It is located on the edge of Chorley next to the Leeds Liverpool Canal, making it popular with walkers and passing barges. It has a good catchment area as it is located in a residential area and has good visibility from the road. As you enter the main bar and lounge area there is a mixture of loose and fixed seating that can be re-arranged for group bookings. There is a further raised area with capacity for 30 covers that could also be used for dining or private functions. A good-sized lounge area to the left with a gas stove creates a warm and homely atmosphere, along with the exposed brick wall and period windows with a large bar can be seen along the back wall and has bar seating, with lounge seating and room for a pool table opposite. This property has the provision for live music within the premises licence, this has proven to be popular in the past with the local community. There is a popular cobbled drinking area with benches located to the front of the pub. The pub is decorated with hanging baskets, making it an extremely attractive place to sit and relax.
