The location
Leyland is located in Lancashire, approximately six miles south of Preston and with a population of 35,600 according to the 2011 Census.
Historically, it comprised of fields with Roman roads navigating through it from Wigan to Walton Dale. The area lay untouched for hundreds of years until the Battle of Hastings (1066). It’s also mentioned in the Domesday Book (1085).
