Travellers Rest Newquay
Private Accommodation: The private accommodation consists of two bedrooms, a bathroom and a lounge / kitchen area. There is a private entrance to the flat as well as an internal entrance.
Location: The Travellers rest is situated in the hamlet of Trevarrian which is about a quarter of a mile from Mawgan Porth Beach and in the other direction about half a mile to Newquay Airport. The town of Newquay is only 8 miles away along the coast and Padstow is 9 miles away along the coast in the opposite direction. Within a two minute walk is a large holiday park and a further two holiday parks within a five minute drive.
Trading Potential: The Travellers Rest has over the past five years built up a great reputation for its locally sourced food, this has resulted in a very large seasonal uplift due to its popularity. Whilst it has traded well in the premises itself, the site in recent years has been able to develop the large field opposite the pub and adjacent to its very large car park.
The offer is almost able to operate separately with two food venues and a bar area. This area is catering for the many families visiting throughout the summer. There are 4 accommodation pods fully self-contained which have a great occupancy level and there is further potential to add 4 more. There is currently a plan to add two AV car charging points in the car park. In addition we have plans to develop the external patio area into a covered ‘Al fresco dining area. New Publican Profile: The Travellers rest needs an operator with strong entrepreneurial skills able to see the many opportunities available from this very diverse site. Experience handling a large food operation is essential and a great understanding of a seasonal trading pattern would be a great advantage.
Internal Trade Areas: The internal area on the whole is of an open plan design which can seat over 70 covers. In addition there is another room with 20 covers that can also double up as a private function room. It has a single bar operation with the kitchen situated behind the bar area, the kitchen is a fully equipped trade kitchen with Rational, chargrill and other standard catering equipment.
External Trade Areas: To the rear and side of the pub there is a terraced seating area with approximately 60 covers on picnic style tables. Across the road opposite the pub is a large lined car park a very large field with catering and bar serveries, a drinking and children’s play area as well as 4 B&B accommodation pods all en-suite with microwave, fridge, double bed & a sofa bed. We are currently exploring options to install solar panels to the site.
