About The Hanger Freehouse
The Hanger Freehouse is located amidst the beautiful countryside in the village of Oakhanger, Hampshire. It is thought that the pub dates back as far as 1550 and was previously known as The Red Lion & The Rising Sun Inn.
Their pub offers a light contemporary dining room where we showcase the best in seasonal food, championing Hampshire’s best suppliers. Or you can enjoy a pint of Hampshire Ale or choose from our extensive gin menu in the cosy bar area with a selection of delicious bar snacks.
On sunny days you can enjoy their secluded terrace or have drinks on the lawn and watch the world go by!
Explore The Hangers Way…
The Hangers Way is a 21 mile long-distance footpath through Hampshire. Starting at Alton railway station it trails through the beautiful Hampshire countryside finishing at Queen Elizabeth Country Park, south of Petersfield.
The Hanger Country Pub and Restaurant makes for the perfect stop to take a break and refuel.
If 21 miles is a bit too much, fear not you can find us on the East Worldham to Selborne part of the trail.
