A great opportunity to take on a pub with bags of potential as we look for a creative operator to return the White Lion to it’s previous spot as THE destination pub in the area. You’ll be a food enthusiast able to deliver exceptional service and create both reasons to visit for those passing through, and even more reasons to return when they do!

There is capacity in the business in terms of kitchen and covers to grow food sales as a focus for the pub. Plus, leverage functions, events and Supperclub to boost those sales alongside the day to day trade.

You’ll be an enthusiastic operator who feels comfortable front and centre touching tables as well as driving food quality in the generous kitchen space. You will not only be popular with locals but also able to draw guests from and beyond. Your focus will be on delivering 5-star quality service and ratings.

The pub needs a savvy marketeer, maximising social media channels to reach a new audience. You’ll ensure that you are the go-to venue for local families across the weekend (and the odd school night treat), midweek lunch time diners, and of course groups meeting for a cracking Sunday Roast. The pub also needs an operator who knows what online guests look for when making bookings, building strong Trip Advisor, Google, and Facebook score.

The pub and location

Located on the outskirts of Dunstable, the White Lion is positioned to serve the town, surrounding country villages, and act as a point for families and friends to meet from further afield. Attractions such as Whipsnade Zoo and country parks are a short drive away attracting guests to the area who will appreciate a good pub lunch or dining experience at the end of a day.

With a separate dining area, as well as space around the bar, and a decent sized garden there are plenty of options to suit the different occasions that your guests will visit for. Alongside tonnes of day to day support and a brilliant framework to grow the business, we provide an uncapped cut of top line turnover to pay yourself and your team in exchange for your Management Company providing the management services at the pub – it’s your structure to own, subject to management company costs including, but not limited to, staff costs, minor repairs and maintenance at the pub, security/door staff and insurance. We understand how important it is for a Management Company to completely own their own team.
