In a bid to demonstrate their sustainability credentials, Marston’s have implemented several eco-friendly changes to St Johns House, their pub support centre and head office located in Wolverhampton city centre. Marston’s chose to purchase and refurbish an empty former 1960s office block completely transforming it into a modern fit for purpose support centre.
The British Institute of Innkeeping have awarded them a sustainability champion !

The British Institute of Innkeeping (BII) is the professional body for the licensed retail sector.

Marston’s moved into their transformed office just over one year ago, they’re proud to be recognised for the sustainability measures they’ve implemented as part of its refurbishment. St Johns House is entirely electric, including their two electric training kitchens (no gas hobs here!). They’ve recently installed solar panels, which will generate 20% of the building’s energy usage ☀️ Solar panels are also being installed across part of their pub estate throughout 2024.
Further initiatives include award-winning sustainability training for all of their team members, providing the necessary education and resources for everyone to play their part. Their partnerships with Too Good To Go and Olleco aid in reducing our food waste and improve recycling. And outside in the carpark – as well as at some of their pubs – you’ll find EV car charging points, encouraging and supporting team members and guests to travel electric ⚡
