About the Pub
The Wellington Blackburn ’s trade revolves around the central bar servery which services all areas of the pub, which is split into three main sections, the central one being the main bar area which houses the bar. There is an ‘L’ shaped lounge located to the left side of the pub with seating for up to thirty people. The ambience in this area is warm and welcoming with its feature log burner which is popular in colder months along with its walls filled with ‘bric a brac’. To the right side of the pub is the games area which is usually filled with the locals, this room houses a pool table along with a darts board and fixed and loose seating. Outside, there is a beer garden and smoking solution to the rear with four picnic benches and is popular in the summer months. Although there is no car park, there is street parking close by.
The Wellington Blackburn is a traditional community pub and has the potential to become the hub of the local community. The pub does benefit from some match day traffic with supporters visiting the pub on the way to the game, however there is room to increase this. The pub is very games focused, having lots of teams throughout the week including pool and darts as well as a ladies darts team and pool nights. The pub is limited with its entertainment offer but does occasionally offer charity events throughout the year.
